Free Eye Exams and Glasses for Kids by Vision To Learn @ Sibley
July 16 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Non-profit Vision to Learn will offer vision screenings, eye exams, and, if necessary, glasses for children ages 5-18. These services are free and will be provided at NO COST to you.

Quality vision care is an important component of education; students that cannot see often struggle to learn to read, to see the board, and to succeed academically.
During the course of this event, your child will be screened. If your child fails the screening, a trained and licensed Optometrist will then perform a basic eye exam on your child, and will prescribe glasses if appropriate. You will be informed if your child may need follow-up care.
Following the eye exam, if your child needs glasses he/she will have the opportunity to pick from a variety of frames, and glasses will be ordered for your child. Approximately 3 weeks later, Vision To Learn will return to distribute the glasses they selected, customized with their prescription and fitted by a trained optician.
The eye exam and eyeglasses are available to all students who need them, at no out-of-pocket cost to parents or children.

Vision to Learn was launched in Georgia in August 2017 through a multi-year partnership with the Atlanta Hawks Foundation. More than 1,000 Atlanta Public School students have received free glasses so far in the 2017-2018 school year. The Cobb library events will be the first Vision To Learn visits in Cobb County and at Georgia public libraries.
The upcoming Vision To Learn events are part of the Cobb County Public Library’s efforts to collaborate with organizations offering “bright spots” identified by Learn4Life (L4L), the Metro Atlanta Regional Education Partnership, for improving educational outcomes for “cradle to career” success. L4L is powered by the Metro Atlanta Chamber, the Atlanta Regional Commission, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, and the United Way of Greater Atlanta together with metro school districts, non-profits, businesses, and communities. www.l4lmetroatlanta.org
