DIY Community Series : Secrets of Better Photography

Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center

January 18, 2018 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 12:30pm on Thursday, happening 7 times

So you’re pretty handy with your phone camera, but you feel the urge to get more serious about taking and manipulating images.  However, a DSLR camera is daunting: what are all these buttons, dials and menus?  How do you even turn it on?  Here is a no-tears introduction to better photography, mostly self-paced but in the company of fellow beginners. DIY Community Series’ “The Secrets of Better Photography” series uses Gale Courses as its main learning source.  You’ll need to sign up for the December session of Gale Courses Secrets of Better Photography.  You’ll then work on the photo assignments on your own, meeting once a week as a group to share.  You’ll be amazed at how much you improve! There will be additional sources and practice tips at each meeting along with a community of support to keep you going.
