Decision-Making with Data!
Thursday, October 17 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Community leaders and volunteers are invited to this special workshop featuring Neighborhood Nexus, a regional information and community intelligence system providing expertise, data and tools for creating opportunities for all metro Atlanta residents.
Presented by Tommy Pearce, Executive Director of Neighborhood Nexus
Launched in 2009, Neighborhood Nexus “brings better data and insights to the thousands of decision-makers throughout metro Atlanta.”
Officials recently named Pearce as executive director charged with expanding the engagement and visibility of Neighborhood Nexus with residents and organizations. He has served as a consultant supporting nonprofits in strategic planning, expanding collaboration and strategically using data.
“Tommy’s background in the nonprofit sector, specifically his expertise around using data to drive impact, makes him an ideal fit for Neighborhood Nexus,” said Alicia Philipp, president of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta.
Neighborhood Nexus is a regionally recognized partnership that contributes to the prosperity of metro Atlanta by providing community leaders, government, businesses, advocates and service providers access to and interpretation of community information for the greater good. It is a partnership consisting of the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), which manages the daily operations, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, the United Way of Greater Atlanta and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. Currently, Neighborhood Nexus houses more than 5,000 socioeconomic and demographic variables for every neighborhood, zip code, city, county, legislative district and public school in the state and works with a broad range of stakeholders in the education, health, equity and poverty prevention fields.
