african-american-historyIn celebration of African-American History Month, join us for a lecture by Lawrence P. King. This interesting discussion will focus on contemporary and historical black scientists.  Stories of these men of achievement and the challenges they faced to make their contributions to the wealth of engineering and scientific knowledge and resources in American will engage adults and youth.

This event will take place in the “Woody” Thompson Community Room.  No registration is required.

Lawrence P. King is Vice President for DEBLAR & Associates Inc. Since 1970 he has promoted greater access to science and engineering education for underrepresented minorities nationally, served on the Selection Committee for the US Black Engineer program, and produced the nationally distributed video, “The Call for Blacks in Energy and the Sciences.” Mr. King lives in Austell and serves on the Expert Review Committee for the National Inventors Hall  Fame.
