The Cobb County Public Library System and AARP are partnering together to provide a free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service. AARP tax assistance is for lower and middle income taxpayers, with special attention to those 60 years of age and older. First-come, first served. Late arrivals may have to wait until the next day on the schedule for service.

AARP Tax Aide

An event every week that begins at 10:30am on Tuesday, repeating until Tuesday, April 9, 2019
Free AARP Tax-Aide service will be provided from February 5th through April 9, 2019 at the East Cobb Library.
IRS-trained tax counselors will provide the Tax-Aide service for low to moderate income taxpayers. The free, confidential service is available to everyone regardless of age and membership in AARP is not required.
AARP Tax-Aide is sponsored by the IRS. Electronic filing will be available at all locations.
No appointments are necessary but arrive early to sign up. Space is limited. Tax-Aide officials request everyone plan ahead to be prepared for their Tax-Aide sessions:
Each taxpayer is asked to bring 2017 returns and 2018 tax documents. Also, each taxpayer must present their social security cards or other identification documents for yourself and all dependents. For direct deposit refunds, the taxpayer must have a valid check.
