The Cobb County Public Library System and AARP are partnering together to provide a free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service. AARP tax assistance is for lower and middle income taxpayers, with special attention to those 60 years of age and older. First-come, first served.

An event every week that begins at 10:30 am on Thursday, repeating until Thursday, April 9, 2020
Free AARP Tax-Aide service will be provided on Thursdays from 10:30 am – 3:00 pm from February 6th through April 9, 2020 at the Mountain View Regional Library.
IRS-trained tax counselors will provide the Tax-Aide service for low to moderate income taxpayers. The free, confidential service is available to everyone regardless of age and membership in AARP is not required.
AARP Tax-Aide is sponsored by the IRS. Electronic filing will be available at all locations.
No appointments are necessary but arrive early to sign up. Space is limited. Tax-Aide officials request everyone plan ahead to be prepared for their Tax-Aide sessions:
Each taxpayer is asked to bring 2018 returns and 2019 tax documents. Also, each taxpayer must present their social security cards or other identification documents for yourself and all dependents. For direct deposit refunds, the taxpayer must have a valid check.
