Refresh your driving skills with the AARP Smart Driver course!
The AARP Smart Driver™ course, offered by AARP Driver Safety, is the nation’s first and largest refresher course designed specifically for drivers age 50 and older. The course will be taught by a certified AARP Driver Safety Instructor/Volunteer.
You will learn:
- Defensive driving techniques
- Proven safety strategies
- New traffic laws and rules of the road
After completing the course, you will have a greater appreciation of driving challenges and a better understanding of how to avoid potential collisions and injuring yourself or others. There are no tests to pass. You simply sign up and learn. Upon completion you could receive a multi-year discount on your car insurance. Restrictions may apply. This 6-hour course will be held on Monday, January 13 and Monday, May 4th and will run from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. Please plan to arrive 30-minutes prior to the course for check-in. The course costs $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members for supplies, which you will keep, to be paid by check or cash during check-in. There is a 30-minute lunch break. Bring a lunch, a beverage, and your AARP card if you are a member.
