AARP Safe Driving Course

Refresh your driving skills with the AARP Smart Driver course!
The AARP Smart Driver™ course, offered by AARP Driver Safety, is the nation’s first and largest refresher course designed specifically for drivers age 50 and older. The course will be taught by Doug McDaniel, a certified AARP Driver Safety Instructor/Volunteer. You will learn defensive driving techniques, proven safety strategies, and new traffic laws and rules of the road.
After completing the course, you will have a greater appreciation of driving challenges and a better understanding of how to avoid potential collisions and injuring yourself or others. There are no tests to pass. You simply sign up and learn. Upon completion you could receive a multi-year discount on your car insurance. Restrictions may apply. Consult your insurance agent for details.
This 6-hour course will be held on Saturday, November 23rd and will run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please plan to arrive a few minutes prior to the course for check-in. The course costs $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members for a manual which you will keep, to be paid by check or cash during check-in. Please bring your membership card if you are an AARP member. There will be a 30-minute lunch break. Participants are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch and a beverage.
