Entries for the horticulture competition of the National Garden Club Flower Show at Switzer Library will be accepted outside the library on Thursday, May 22, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

flowershow1The patriotic flower show is hosted by Creative Study Club, an organization of accredited National Garden Club Flower Show judges. The show will open to public on Thursday, after judging is completed, from 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., and continues through mid-afternoon Saturday.

Only Creative Study members will be providing designs for the show. The horticulture competition is open to anyone. Rules for the horticulture competition are posted at http://frogsncats.com/fsSched.pdf.

After the public opening for the flower show at the library in Marietta on Thursday afternoon, the show continues Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

3 p.m.: Fran Myers, Growing African Violets

Saturday

Noon: Pril Buege, Ikebana Techniques

1 p.m.: Anna Burns, Basic Design

2 p.m.: Caroline Silcox, Table Designs for the Home
