The Digital Literacy portal is an initiative of the Obama Administration to serve as a valuable resource to practitioners who are delivering digital literacy training and services in their communities. As more and more jobs and educational offerings are available online, the ability to navigate the Internet is critical to participate more fully in the economy.

Connecting to e-government services at CCPLS is easy and efficient.  The library can help you:

  • Provide access to public computers, Internet, and WiFi
  • Navigate through a vast amount of government information and forms
  • Locate trusted websites
  • Provide online and classroom instructions

Be Connected @ CCPLS
You may wish to compile your personal "Application Resource Kit," which will help you expedite the application process by having the required information ready at your fingertips. Before visiting a CCPLS branch, please gather and bring with you the following documentation:

  • Social Security numbers for you and your family members*
  • Current driver’s license or official identification card
  • Record of your income and other monies earned
  • Proof of citizenship
  • Alien registration or permanent resident card, if you are not a citizen
  • Insurance policies (home, car, medical, life…)
  • Military records
  • Mortgage or rental statements
  • Utility bills or other expenses such as school tuitions, daycare
  • Bank statements
  • Work history (places and dates of employment)
  • Additional information as requested by government agency
  • Flash drives or other saving devices
  • Access information to your email account

*This information should only be shared with trusted government sites. The library does not retain any of this information.
