“At night, a little girl imagines she is a mermaid, making daring rescues with the help of her animal friends. And when she wakes up, she can’t help but notice that her hair still smells a bit like the sea.”

Part-Time Mermaid, the newest picture book in our collection by Deborah Underwood and illustrated by Cambria Evans is a whale of a tale about the deep blue sea that follows a girl by day and a mermaid by night.

This part-time mermaid meets all kinds of underwater friends as she plays games in coral caves and explores pirate ships as she tries to find her friend Merboy and his turtle.
