WHO WE ARE:

The Cobb County Public Library Foundation was incorporated in 2003 as a fund raising body for the Cobb County Public Library System.  The Foundation is a Non-Profit 501c3 corporation governed by a Board of Directors.  Its purpose is to plan and implement fundraising for the Library System.  Funds raised will supplement, not take the place of, funds from traditional sources.

Featured Author:   Johnnie Gabriel,
author of "Cooking in the South."


The “Marietta Cake Lady" presents over 150 delicious Southern recipes from her award-winning restaurant, Gabriel's Desserts, called “The Little Shop of Wonders” by Atlanta Magazine.  She will also discuss her upcoming sequel, “Second Helpings.”  All proceeds are designated to fund the
Gail Rogers Honorary Scholarship.

Monday, March 1st -11:30 a.m. at The Georgian Club:     Tickets  $25.00

Featured Author:   William J. Morton, MD, JD, author of "The Story of Georgia's Boundaries."


Author William J. Morton will discuss the fascinating story of how the state was shaped. More than mere lines on a map, the boundaries of  present-day Georgia reflect centuries of wars, treaties, political maneuvering, litigation, heroic actions, and even human error.  All proceeds are designated to fund the Gail Rogers Honorary Scholarship.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO SUPPORT YOUR LIBRARY:     
 

Donate:  You can help grow our library system now for future generations to enjoy! Become a Cobb Library Foundation supporter with a donation at one of our five giving levels. 

Participate:  Third Annual Jean Stromberg Storytelling Hour at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010 located in the
Central Library Community Room.  Several well-known storytellers will donate their time to spin tales for all ages.  This free hour is in memory of Jean Stromberg, a remarkable storyteller.  A reception will follow the event. 

Scholarship Contributions:  Contribute to the Gail Rogers Honorary Scholarship Fund or attend one of the quarterly "Meet the Author" luncheons.  The Scholarship is awarded annually to a Cobb County Library employee pursuing a Master's in Library Science.

  •  The next Meet the Author Luncheon will be March 1st at 11:30 a.m. at The Georgia Club.
