School will be out the week of November 25th through November 29th for Cobb County and Marietta City schools, as well as for many private and homeschool students for Thanksgiving Break 2019.

Cobb County Public Libraries will close at 5 pm on Wednesday, November 27 and will be closed Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29. Cobb libraries will open at 10 am on Saturday, November 30 for our regular weekend schedule.

We will have plenty of fun activities packed throughout Thanksgiving Break, including on the weekends.

STEM Stories at Mountain View Regional Library on Saturday, November 23 from 10:15 am – 10:45 am. Preschool age children will explore the science of germs with hands-on activities through books, experiments, and art. 770-509-4964

Project Keep’em Off The Streets Inc. Arts & Crafts Workshop at South Cobb Regional Library on Saturday, November 23 from 11 am – 4 pm. The workshop is a free extracurricular activity for school age children where kids are given a project kit to complete in which they learn to work with their hands and help build a better society. Read to a Dog at North Cobb Regional Library on Saturday, November 23 from 1 pm – 3 pm. Independent readers can build their confidence by signing up for a 15-minute session of reading to a certified therapy dog. Register in person at the Youth Services Desk or call 770-801-5322

Baby Storytime at Switzer Library on Monday, November 25 from 10:30 am – 11 am. Babies from birth – 24 months are encouraged to sing songs, read books, and socialize and play. 770-528-2320

Tween/Teen Create: Thanksgiving Dishes Vision Board at South Cobb Regional Library on Monday, November 25 from 4:30 pm – 6 pm. Family Fun Time at East Cobb Library on Wednesday, November 27 from 3:30 pm – 4:15 pm. This Thanksgiving themed fun time for families with children of all ages lasts 40-50 minutes and can include books, activities, a short film, parachute play, music, and a craft. 770-509-2730

FLL Robitics – STEM Project Presentation at East Cobb Library on Saturday, November 30 from 1 pm to 2 pm. Join a team of five students as they present their projects for the National First Lego League and demonstrate their mission: City Shaper. This competition lets kids design innovative ways to tackle problems in large cities now and for the future. Any child interested in LEGOs and STEAM is invited to attend. No registration required.
