Escape that winter weather with a relaxing movie at Cobb County libraries. We have several upcoming flicks on the agenda. Our film collection ranges from classic to new releases.

Family Movie Saturday at Switzer Library from noon – 2 pm will feature on December 22nd two classics. First, The Muppet Christmas Carol (G) is the Muppets take on this classic Dickens’ tale in which Ebenezer Scrooge (played by Michael Caine) is visited by spirits of three ghosts: Christmas past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Future. After the Muppets movie, stay for a screening of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. On December 29th, Family Movie Saturday will feature the wintry musical, Frozen (PG) will give you a chance to sing-a-long with Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and all of your favorite characters.

West Cobb Regional Library’s Winter Break screenings for Wednesday, December 26 include a Family Movie from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm and the Tween Only Movie from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

Classic Movie Thursday at Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center will feature The Muppet Christmas Carol on December 27 from 2 pm – 4 pm.

The House With a Clock in its Walls at Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center on Friday, December 28 from 6 pm – 8 pm. This new release (rated PG) follows a ten-year-old who goes to live with his uncle and sets off a chain of events that leads to opening a world full of secrets, danger, witches, and warlocks. Starring Jack Black, Cate Blanchett and Owen Vaccaro.
