Shakespeare Film Series: Julius Caesar
We will be celebrating William Shakespeare's birthday throughout the month of April with four film adaptations of some of his most famous plays. Shakespeare's birthday is generally agreed to be April 23.
On April 29 we will watch the Oscar winning film "Julius Caesar" starring Marlon Brando and James Mason. A marvelous retelling of Shakespeare's tragedy about the murder of Julius Caesar on the ides of March and the upheaval caused by the fighting between Brutus, Cassius and Mark Antony in the aftermath of his death. Best known for Mark Antony's "Friends! Roman's! Countrymen! Lend me your ears" speech after the death of Caesar.
