2016 NORTH GEORGIA READS presents bestselling author Mary Alice Monroe at Switzer Library in Marietta on Friday, November 18 at 7 p.m. She will discuss her new book, A Lowcountry Christmas.

maryalicemonroeMonroe’s new novel is the latest in her popular Lowcountry Summer Series. A coastal South Carolina resident, she is known for introducing the environment as a focus of her fiction.

A Lowcountry Christmas is about 10-year-old Miller McClellan and his family’s challenges, including tough financial issues. Miller wants a dog, but he is disappointed as his brother Taylor returning from war with PTSD gets Thor, a large Labrador/Great Dane service dog. It’s a story about family bonds.

Books will be available for purchase at the event and signing courtesy of Book Exchange of Marietta.

North Georgia Reads was created to promote collaboration between neighboring library systems and to bring bestselling authors to a community of 46 libraries in north Georgia.
