Acworth Library’s Storytime in the Park is scheduled for every Tuesday at 10:30 am in June and July, except for the July 4th holiday, at Frana Brown Park in downtown Acworth. Children of all ages come to hear stories, sing songs, and create a craft while enjoying the fresh air. This is the third year for the popular program.

Storytime in the Park has taken library and literacy beyond the physical building and provides a place for families to meet their neighbors,” Acworth Library Manager Nichole Knox says. Being outdoors while listening to stories can offer many new fun and stimulating experiences for children.

Knox says Storytime in the Park is a great way for children in the community to learn, play, and explore. Kids get to make friends and adults get to interact with their neighbors. People bring snacks to munch on and towels and quilts to spread out and relax while they listen to various stories.

The City of Acworth has “been very supportive of Storytime in the Park,” Knox notes. The City has played a major role in summer storytimes since they started three years ago. Acworth has been very generous in offering the library the opportunity to use their park during the summer.

All ages are welcome. For more information call Acworth Library at (770) 917-5165.

Frana Brown Park is located at 4901 North Main Street, Acworth 30101. It is across from the Post Office. In the event of inclement weather we will meet in the library.
