Spring Break 2019 is April 1-5. Students and staff members of the Cobb County and Marietta City school districts, and the communities of area private schools and homeschoolers have many options for Spring Break events and activities for all ages at Cobb County Public Libraries.

Holi Festival of Color Celebration at Mountain View Regional Library on Saturday, March 30 from 3:30 pm – 5 pm. We will be celebrating the Indian festival of Holi, known as the “Festival of Colors” through film, dance and a craft. Wear clothes that can get dirty or colored. For kids in grades K-5. Less Stress on the Test at Sibley Library on April 1 from 1 pm – 2 pm. Cobb 4-H will be teaching 3rd – 8th graders how to relax and focus before taking tests with breathing techniques, study hints, chair yoga, and more. 770-528-2520.

Shark Lady Read Aloud at West Cobb Regional Library on April 1 from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm. After reading “Shark Lady, The True Story of How Eugenie Clark Became the Ocean’s Most Fearless Scientist” children will learn about sharks and make a craft to take home. 770-528-4699.
Green Screen Cinema at Mountain View Regional Library on Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3 from 2 pm – 3:30 pm. Elementary School aged children will create stop motion animation in this two-day workshop. Kids are encouraged to bring their favorite small action figure or miniature character. Myths in Rare Books for Tweens at Kennesaw Library in downtown Kennesaw on April 4 from 3 pm – 4 pm. JoyEllen Williams, Special Collections Curator at Kennesaw State University, will showcase rare and historic books that demonstrate the depth and breadth of mythological creatures, heroes, and the thin line between legend and reality. Spring Break Planting Fun at West Cobb Regional Library on April 4 from 3 pm – 4 pm. School aged children will explore nature with a hands-on activity. Make It Thursday: Egg Drop Challenge at Powder Springs Library on April 4 from 4 pm – 5 pm. Our arts and craft club for kids ages 5 – 9 will be doing an egg drop challenge. Participants will try to design a container that will keep an egg safe when dropped from a ladder. 770-439-3600.

Teen Tech Virtual Reality at East Cobb Library on April 6 from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm. Experience the latest in virtual reality technology and Google TiltBrush. With HTC’s Vive headset, powered by Steam VR, experience new possibilities as we create the world around us in Google’s VR art program. This event is exclusively for teens in grades 6-12. Storytelling Festival at Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center on Saturday, April 6 from 11 am – 4 pm. Professionals from the Cobb Storytellers, the Southern Crescent Storytellers, and the KSU Tellers will be reading and performing creative tales of wonder. This first annual all-day Storytelling Festival will have workshops for adults and children for a variety of topics and a Storytelling Open Mic. During spring break Stratton Library will be hosting workshops and Teen Job Fair for teens interested in stepping into the workforce. On Monday, April 1 from 1 pm – 3 pm we will hold a Teen Resume Workshop. On Tuesday, April 2 from 1 pm – 3 pm we will have a Teen Interview Workshop Then on Wednesday, April 3 from 10 am – 1 pm we will have our Teen Job Fair.
